My Scottish Alias or Identity Theft?
Melissa Wilson: Hi...I am SO sorry if this is totally the wrong person, but did you ever live in Scotland?? I'm looking for an emily white I used to know!! Melissa Xx
Unfortunately for her she has the wrong emily...what is even worse though is that on facebook there are over 500 emily whites... pretty daunting of a task. When I replied to give her the bad news I asked how many other emilys she messaged - her response: well, you looked like the most likely guess at first (i was trying to see any familiar-ish faces...but we lost touch quite a while back, so it looks like a pretty hard task...I'll ask around old friends though and see if anyone else had any luck!! thanks, XX
I found this answer pretty interesting mainly because my display picture is of me with two other people so I wonder if it was actually me who looked familiar or those in the picture with me? Hmmm will never know I guess. Is it just me or is signing a private message to a stranger with two 'kisses (XX)' a little strange?

A Day of Past and Present
Anyways aside from the homework I've got to do, I decided I would 'involve' myself in the school and I am running for Secretary of the JSA (journalism student association). This is quite unlike me but I am really excited anyways! But in Emily fashion o
ut of five available positions mine is the only one where there is more than one person running. How typical. Not that I am not up for some good competition... because I am! If I do get elected I might need to invest in a laptop battery that lasts more than 20 minutes or in a mac. ALSO people I need you to weigh in on what you think my campaign colour should be. The thing is purple and green would be my first choice but the CSU have clearly overkilled that. So SUGGESTIONS? (leave comments with colour choices!) Ya JSA!So aside from University drama, for a feature I am doing for the school paper I
had to visit my high school to learn about composting. See I graduated in 2006, not very long ago by any standards. EXCEPT the school has completely changed. There is a new lunchroom, and added floor, a brand new second gym, a stage, a weekly podcast, a "green" initiave and you now choose a 'major'... as if I had any of those things. Also I can't forget to mention that there is a whole new set of teachers who were up-downing me trying to figure out why I wasn't in uniform vs the old teachers who barely recognized me and also were trying to decide where my uniform was. They really mean it when they say you can't go home again.

Self-Bullying
I procrastinate homework until the last possible second. Friday was no exception and I wasted my whole day doing nothing. I opened Microsoft Word to a blank document in attempt to start my political science homework. However, hours later I had nothing done and I was going out for dinner. I was mad at myself so I typed the following message into the blankness: "Fuck emily way to get nothing done, Loser".
Anyways, when I returned hours later I had forgotten about the message. I was in such shock when I opened my screen and saw the hurtful words. I almost cried. The whole thing (including this post) was pretty lame but I wanted to show that self-bullying exists and sucks so don't do it.
The new header on this blog is a result of Friday's procrastination.

Really?
Like most girls on Facebook, it isn't unusual to sign in and be greeted with a friendship request that makes you rethink your display picture. Some adds are even so sketchy that "block person" is the only appropriate response. Now this week I had one of the most interesting adds to date. Some Mr. sent in a request. The name seemed vaguely familiar so I ventured to his profile. Big Mistake. It appeared that every one of his friends on Facebook were EMILYs. Now this may be his attempt to find a long lost love but being the pessimist that I am, I quickly hit block and reject then proceeded to tweak my privacy settings.
This Facebook freak was nothing compared to the gentle looking old man on the bus who told me he wore his nice shirt today because it was his birthday. I smiled at his innocent remark. Another Big Mistake. He then explained that he was "going to visit a girl, a naughty kind of girl. She thinks shes a communist but she sells dopes." (Note that at the time I was reading my Communist textbook) Really? There was obviously something about me this week that attracted all these interesting characters.
